Spring/Summer 2017 Recap

Where has this year gone?! One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to blog more … and I have clearly not kept that resolution. Between the weddings, life and an exciting upcoming new service (Shh…stay tuned), I have fallen behind here. (Props to Toledo Wedding Guide and the local photographers who do a wonderful job keeping up with their blogs!) So instead of individual wedding posts, I’m going to do a seasonal recap of a few of the beautiful weddings we have designed and created floral arrangements and bouquets for throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. We have been so lucky to serve as wedding florists and event designers to some truly sweet and creative people.

Note: This is not a comprehensive recap. If you were a 2017 LBN client and you don’t see your wedding featured, it just means we didn’t receive photos. We’d love to share your day! Email us at info@laboutiquenostalgie.com if you’d like your photos shared.

In May, our team traveled to the Detroit area for Heather and Matt’s romantic wedding at Meadow Brook Hall. The wedding took place in the most beautiful tent I’ve ever seen attached to a gorgeous historic mansion. If you’re looking for a classic setting for your day, be sure to check out Meadow Brook.

In spring, we also designed Brandee and Jason’s sweet vintage wedding at Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio. These two were troopers — even though it rained, they didn’t let it dampen their spirits. We used lots of classic flowers like hydrangea and roses to give our bride the romantic look she was after.

June bride Emily was our glamour girl. She and her husband Andy were actually married in Hawaii months before but had their wedding reception at Registry Bistro‘s Secor Ballroom in Downtown Toledo. This wedding has a glam urban feel completed by edison bulbs and the bride’s amazing gold dress.

We also got to do an amazing pastry chef’s wedding, a couple bridal showers and brought our mobile flower crown bar to a few events this spring. It was a fun and fast season full of garden roses, amazing clients and long days with worthwhile results.

Summer is typically our second busiest season of the year (fall is first). This summer was kicked off with some great news — Lauren and Max’s backyard Catawba Island wedding being featured in the Knot Ohio magazine (on newsstands now)! Seeing their day again (this time on glossy magazine pages shot by The Brauns) was amazing.

In July, we designed and served as florists for Jessanna and Preston’s wedding. Jessanna’s mom is a talented former florist so blooms were definitely important. We loved working with a colorful array of flowers like scabiosa, sweet pea, garden roses and peonies.

April’s July wedding was special for several reasons — the lovely couple, it being our first Ann Arbor wedding and it taking place on my 30th birthday 🙂 April and Kyle requested a colorful rustic wedding to complement their venue Cobblestone Farms. (Check out these bridesmaids’ dresses. We are loving the trend of different color gowns for your girls!)

In August, we did a few downtown Toledo weddings, including one at the Toledo Museum of Art. Katrin and John’s big day featured gorgeous burgundy dahlias, eucalyptus garlands and plenty of smiles from the smitten couple. TMA was the perfect setting.

La Boutique went to Catawba Island Club for Ashley and Gabe’s minimalist blush wedding. We used our gold candelabras and plenty of candlelight to give this couple a romantic, elegant setting for their nuptials.

Since September just ended, we don’t have photos for all our events yet — but what we can share is that it was an amazing month. We kicked it off at Nazareth Hall for Sara and Casey’s romantic vintage wedding with gold and mercury glass pieces containing dusty miller, Juliet garden roses and white hydrangeas.

Carly’s glam wedding also took place in September at Hensville in Downtown Toledo. Can’t wait to share more of this one — the chandeliers were decked out with greenery and the bride looked like a 1940s movie star.

And now we are in the midst of designing for our fall and winter weddings — and booking into 2018 and 2019. If you’d like to schedule a free consultation to chat about us being your wedding florist and designer, email us at info@laboutiquenostalgie.com. We are located in downtown Toledo but available to travel for Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Sandusky, Detroit and Columbus weddings (and beyond). Our specialty is one-of-a-kind weddings with a romantic, elegant and soft feel. We’d love to make your dream wedding a reality!
