Anchored Bridal Event 2017 Recap

When we teamed up with Swatch Studios in 2016 to give Toledo an alternative experience to bridal shows, we had no idea what the community’s reaction would be. And can we just say — thank you. We were so honored by the turnout and support for Anchored: Toledo’s Bridal Show Alternative in 2016 we decided to host another this year. And we are even MORE honored and support as this year at The Blarney Event Center was even better somehow.

This bridal-show alternative gives Toledo-area couples the chance to talk to wedding vendors who value well-crafted designs, creative details, delicious food/cocktails and inspiring ideas. Rather than your standard bridal show booth display, Anchored is set like a faux wedding, complete with a model bride and groom, in a relaxed party-type atmosphere with music, prizes, appetizers, desserts, a flower-crown making station and a cash bar. Vendor participation is also limited to one per category to create a more intimate, relaxed environment.

Design and Florals

Other than mingling with our clients and meeting new couples, our favorite part of Anchored is designing the decor and creating the floral arrangement for the faux head table display.  It gives us the freedom to do something fun and unique. This year’s look was very spring-inspired with white flowers and greenery (Pantone’s color of the year). However we wanted to complement the venue’s industrial downtown setting so we wove in lots of various metals and geometric shapes for a more urban look. Check it out!

Love Great Lake’s Rentals’ farm chairs!

And how cute are our lovebirds Samantha and Kyle? (They were actually married in July of last year and were totally game to re-experience a wedding.)

Samantha, after her dress switch. Thanks to Atlas Bridal and Toledo Wedding Officiant, too!

Interactive Stations

Another big part of Anchored is the interactive stations. We try to get our attendees as involved as possible –instead of going booth to booth like at big shows, you can make a flower crown, try out a hair/makeup style or make string art!

Cambridge + West’s station

Wildflower Salon and Makeup by Amy Lewis provided the boho-chic hair and makeup for our models, too.

La Boutique Nostalgie can’t wait for next year’s event! And we couldn’t have pulled this year’s off without our talented vendor team. (Seriously, if you are looking for wedding vendors, consider the following.)
